• A new work by Alice Gomez was premiered at the San Antonio Museum of Art on March 28, 2011. The work is titled "Aftermath" was commissioned by Musical Offerings. "Aftermath" is scored for violin and prcussion, and depicts Gomez's reaction to the museum's newly acquired art piece by American artist, Luiz Cruz Azaceta. Both works pay homage to the victims of the bombing of the Federal Building in Oklahoma City, 1997.

• Internationally known carilloneur, George Gregory, has recently commissioned Alice Gomez to write a new work for carillion. The composition will be premiered at the 21st International Carillion Festival, March 3-11, 2012. Mr. Gregory will be performing on the carillion at the Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales, Florida.

• The fall semester of 2011will be Alice's twenty-second year of teaching at San Antonio College, Texas. Alice Gomez will be a featured American composer at the International Women's Brass Conference in 2010.
